Sunday
Our service, Treasure Hunters and teens bible class all begin at 10:30 am. Our service finishes at 11:30 after which everyone is invited to have a cup of tea or coffee in our link area. A time to strengthen old friendships and an opportunity to make new friends.
During the service for children
We also have a creche for those younger bundles of joy, while you are welcome to leave your children with our creche leaders or stay with them to enjoy a chat we are also welcome any child in the service, we’re just delighted to have your family with us.
Confident in the knowledge our children and young people are being well cared for the rest of us gather in the church where we seek to discover how our lives fit into the story of what Jesus has done for us through his life, death and resurrection.
Family is important to us in Portstewart and halfway through the service our Treasure Hunters and teenagers join the rest of us in the church for a time of family praise, worship and storytelling from the bible.
Some common questions
- Do I have to get dressed up? No, just wear what makes you comfortable. We have people with all sorts of different ideas of what is fashionable and comfortable you won’t be out of place no matter what you wear.
- Do I need to bring a bible? A bible is always helpful in church, but you don’t need to bring your own. There are bibles in the pews and the readings are also on the screen along with any key verses Stuart will be explaining.
- Do I need to know the songs? Some of the songs will be familiar to you, but others may not. All the words will be on the screen and enough people around you will know the tune to enable you to pick it up and sing along.
- What happens if my child makes a noise? Children are welcome in church along with the noise and bustle that comes with them, but if you do want to take them out a creche is available.
- If I’m running a bit late, can I still come into the church? Yes, stewards are at the door throughout to show you to a seat.
- Can I sit anywhere in the church? Yes, we currently operate a system where those sitting in the window aisle in front of the pulpit are asked to respect the space of anyone who might be wearing a mask, although mask wearing is not compulsory in any part of the church. A steward will always be on hand to help you find the seat that meets your needs.
- Can I get into the church if I use a wheelchair? Yes, there is wheelchair access via the Enfield Street entrance.
- Where do I Park? The convention carpark on convention avenue is free on a Sunday. There is a 30p per hour charge during the week.
